Erin is a fashion design graduate who also designs her own jewelry (some of which she is wearing here). Her husband Alfred is a navy corpsman stationed here in San Diego. We shot these photos near the old Indian Grinding Rocks in Mission Trails park & by the old Mission dam.

Sophia & Richard At the Beach

by James on Aug.30, 2009, under photoshoots

Sophia & Rich are both from Wisconsin, and Sophia recently moved out here to go to grad school…

We had a little trouble actually getting together on Saturday. There is no cellphone coverage at the ocean edge, but eventually we were able to meet up. The spot we chose to shoot, Sunset Cliffs, is a beautiful 3-mile stretch of cliffs, caves, coves and hidden beaches that for the most part are only known to the locals. The particular spot we shot was an area known as Abby’s Reef.

Briana & Jay

by James on Apr.21, 2009, under art, photoshoots

It was a HOT day in San Diego! I met Briana and Jay in Mission Trails Regional Park in east county, to take their engagement photos. By the evening time, it had cooled down somewhat so we hiked down to the San Diego River to take some photos there.

Briana and Jay were good sports: what you can’t tell from the photos here is that there were like a million tiny little flying bugs out…and they got into everything!

Since we had got to a late start, I was kind of rushing to get all the shots done. The park has a policy that the gate closes at seven o’clock in the evening; if your car is not out by then, you get written up, and worse, you are stuck there for the night! Since we hadn’t got the last shot that Briana wanted (both of them walking down a path while shot from behind) we rushed down to the dam and squeezed that one in.  Fortunately for us, we were within earshot when the gatekeeper hailed us to let us know that he was about to lock it down!
